Tutor Job Description

Tutors at Boosted Learning are matched with students in the greater Reno area who they meet with each week throughout the school year. These recurring tutoring sessions are typically 1-hr meetings held in-home. Given the recurrence of each session, as well as the static home environment, our tutors are able to get to know their students and determine their learning style. This approach to tutoring yields dramatic results shown through successful students, delighted parents, happy tutors, and great relationships made to last between all three.

What Our Tutors Can Expect From Us

  • The flexibility to be able to set their own  availability that fits in with their lives

  • To be able to set a total number of desired work hours per week

    • Though we try to fill each of our tutors' schedules to their desired maximum, ​we can only fill based on demand, as well as proven work ethic by our tutors

  • Up-to-date schedules week by week​ and day by day

  • Continuous updates for changes to their schedules 

    • Though schedules shouldn't change much once set in place; cancelations, additions, or amendments to sessions will happen occasionally. And we'll make sure you know about them

  • Open line of communication to Boosted Learning admins and schedulers for all needs

  • Bi-weekly payment structure​​

  • A relaxed and flexible company culture

    •  All the heavy lifting to coordinate clients, schedule sessions, and handle accounts is on us. Just check your schedule, and you're set

What We Expect From Our Tutors

  • Arrive to their sessions on-time​ 

    • This will require having a reliable form of transportation throughout the year​

    • Tutors will need to stay up-to-date with their schedules 

  • Maintain an open line of communication between Boosted Learning admins, schedulers, and students

  • Provide well thought-out tutoring sessions tailored to their respective students

  • 'Complete' appointment in online calendar soon after session is finished

    • Marking a session as completed online is denoted by leaving session notes, as well as confirming the time and completion ​status of the session

  • Hold true to work availability that the tutor puts in place 

    • While we are flexible in allowing our tutors to create their own schedules and available hours, we expect them to abide by them once set in place

  • To give ample notice of leave for vacation, or contract termination

  • To create lasting relationships with their students

  • Enjoy what they do!
