Helen is an undergraduate student in the Integrated Elementary Teaching Program at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in Special Education and minoring in Environmental Science. Through her practicum experiences in her undergrad as well as her previous private tutoring experience, she was able to work with a wide range of students coming from different backgrounds. In her education career so far, she has learned how to run reliable/accurate assessments, how to create whole class/individual lesson plans, and how to utilize a variety of strategies to accommodate for her students. She finds a lot of value in teaching and making meaningful connections with her students. It's also important for Helen to see her students grow and to provide them with an engaging learning experience and the resources they need to succeed.
