Shanti Johnson

Shanti Johnson is a graduate student within the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Human Development and Family Sciences with her research focused adolescent development and maximizing the educational success for at-risk youth. She had previously attained her Associates of Arts degree from Western Nevada College and her bachelors of Human Development and Family Science from UNR. Shanti was a tutor with WNC for over two years where she worked with college-aged students in a wide-range of subjects. Following her passion for education, she currently works as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at UNR where she continues to work with students and teach courses related to Human Development and Family Science.

In her free time, Shanti loves outdoor activities such as rock climbing, figure skating, running, and hiking. She also has a large passion for music and is a part of multiple symphonies in the Reno area acting as both a performer and an arranger.
